In 2025, 316 Waikato families stayed at RMHC Auckland for 4,293 nights at a cost of $1,004,562 NZD.
The RMHC® NZ Facilities
Our Houses offer families a range of amenities to make their stay comfortable and supportive, including fully stocked kitchens, on-site laundry, a library, TV lounges, outdoor play areas, a fitness centre, business centre, free Wi-Fi, and a dedicated expressing room for NICU mums. Children can attend our on-site school (years 1–8), and families can enjoy programmes like art classes, dinner events, and children’s yoga or massage.
Facility Maintenance
Ensuring the upkeep of houses and family rooms. Donations help cover essential costs to keep our Houses running smoothly, including facility maintenance, household supplies like linens, toiletries, and kitchen essentials, as well as operational expenses such as utilities and staff wages. Even small contributions make a real difference - for example, a $5 donation can provide toothpaste and toothbrushes for a family who had to leave home quickly, while $10 can supply breakfast for a family at the hospital.

The Hollran Family - Te Awamutu
When Tyson Hollran was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia at just nine years old, life changed overnight for the whole family. Over the next five years, they faced multiple relapses, intensive treatment, a life-saving bone marrow transplant from Tyson's sister, and countless stays at Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand. Through every challenge, RMHC NZ helped keep their family together. Today, Tyson has finished treatment and is looking forward to the future - a testament to the power of hope, resilience and the support of those around him.
